There aren’t a lot of options for restaurants in Forest Grove, especially because of the pandemic. However, there is a gateway to a hidden gem located on the exit towards Cornelius. Located on Yew Street is Zesti Food Carts, a new food cart location that opened in October 2020.
Zesti has a variety of food carts featuring different cuisines such as Mexican, Turkish, Korean and Thai. MinMin Thai Cuisine and Korean Twist are some of the more popular food carts at Zesti.
“People in Forest Grove love Thai food so I like that I am able to provide them with some good food,” said Zin Tun, owner of MinMin Thai food.
Korean Twist offers a variety of meals like yakisoba, rice bowls and even burritos and tacos. Korean Twist owner, Irene Song, started the Asian fusion cart with her family and they’ve been doing well since their first day at Zesti.
“We sold out on our first day which meant for us to keep making people happy with our food,” said Song. “It’s a novelty owning a food truck as people like going to them in Oregon. When we’re in a pod like this we have a variety which attracts more customers.”
At Pacific, college student Emma Enquist recently discovered Zesti Food Carts and wants more people to know about it.
“I was driving one home night and I saw this string of lights and I pulled over out of curiosity and was not disappointed,” said Enquist. “I’ve gotten a falafel over basmati rice at the Turkish cuisine and a taro milk tea at Bobablastic.”
Bobablastic and other Zesti food carts have gluten-free options and dairy-free options. Zesti Food Carts is open from Thursday through Monday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:30 AM to 8 PM.
