Vanoudenhagen elected for academic award

Senior and outfielder for the softball team, Stephanie Vanoudenhagen has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District VIII softball team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
“Stephanie has made full use of her four years at Pacific both academically and athletically,” said head coach Tim Hill. “She has earned whatever accolades come her way. Her Academic All-District selection is well-deserved.”
Vanoudenhaegen is a second team outfield selection.
She has accumulated a 3.45 grade point average while majoring in education.
She was a National Fast pitch Coaches Association Academic All-American last season.
This season, Vanoudenhaegen set the single season record with 53 runs, 57 hits and 38 stolen bases.
After leading the conference in stolen bases and stolen base attempts she earned All-Northwest Conference First Team honors.
Vanoudenhaegen also ranked third with a .510 on base percentage and fourth with a .429 batting average.
Vanoudenhaegen also ranks sixth nationally with .95 stolen bases per game and 15th with 1.33 runs per game.
To be eligible for the Academic All-District VIII award an athlete must at least at least a cumulative 3.30 gpa, be of sophomore eligibility status and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s matches.
