The love of dance, commitment to the team and the ability to smile and perform are the key factors head coach Berkley Holzschuh looks for when choosing the 2013-2014 Dance Team members. Holzschuh doesn’t expect every dances to exhibit a strong dance technique but it is recommended.

The team will be going into its third year in the fall. It will be Holzschuh’s first year as head coach.

Shaun Keylock will be stepping down as coach and taking an assistant coach’s position along with Jacqline Rosa.

Holzschuh said she is honored Keylock is allowing her to continue his legacy as head coach.

The dance team is currently planning a collegiate dance competition at Pacific for the 2013 year. Holzschuh expects to see Lewis and Clark, Pacific Lutheran and Willamette universities at the competition. She said the team is holding auditions early so the team will be ready to come together and perform at the beginning of the year.

Auditions will be held on April 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Warner 4 dance studio.

If dancers are unable to attend the auditions, the team is accepting video applications completed prior to the auditions.

Students who are interested in auditioning are asked to email Holzschuh at holz0828@pacificu.edu for an informational packet. Holzschuh recommended that dancers complete the application prior to the auditions.
