In Forest Grove there are two marijuana dispensaries, Phresh Cannabis and Shango Premium Cannabis. Both businesses are pioneers in a new market of legalized medical and recreational marijuana.

Phresh Cannabis’s menu and prices can be found at website Leafly.com.

They offer a great selection of flower, concentrates, edibles, pre-rolls and various kinds of smoking apparatuses. The dispensary was awarded first place Sativa, first place Hybrid and third place Indica at the High Times Cannabis Cup in April 2016. Phresh carries many different tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) products.

There is a great selection of edibles with THC or CBD depending on the desired effect. Edibles have a wide range of pricing for medical and recreational. Students and professors alike are encouraged to visit Phresh Cannabis.

Pacific University students and educators are offered a 10 percent discount. The atmosphere is peaceful and music adds to a pleasant shopping experience. The employees are welcoming, knowledgeable, and take the extra time to help customers. Phresh is an impressive dispensary, but they are not the only game in town.

Shango is the other dispensary located in Forest Grove. The atmosphere is calm and the décor has great aesthetics. Shango has welcoming employees who are helpful with all their customers. Like Phresh Cannabis, Shango has a great selection of THC and CBD flowers and products.

Shango has a variety of flowers, Sativa, Indica, and hybrids. They also offer edibles, shatter, and seeds. The menu with prices can be found on Leafly.com. Chong’s Choice strains can also be found at Shango. Chong’s Choice products are selected by the famous comedian, Tommy Chong who has been a connoisseur of marijuana and advocate for several decades.

Phresh Cannabis and Shango are both great dispensaries. For me Phresh was like the corner record store where I could go and talk music all day, and Shango seemed more like a pharmacy where business is business, but you will get the help you want or need. It is great to have a choice, and the choice of whether to get Phresh or do the Shango is yours.
