The third annual ceremony of arts and celebration, Sera delle Arti, will take place Friday, April 22 in the Multipurpose Room. The event is being hosted by the Drama club and will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Sera delle Arti, “Night of the Arts”, in Italian, is a ceremony designed to showcase pieces art students produce and to bring recognitions to people who make art for the campus community. This will be Sera delle Arti’s third annual reception.

The event encompasses many disciplines including Media Arts, Film, English, Creative Writing, Theatre, Dance, Music, as well as Vocal Performance.

Drama club president senior Sierra Miller said the Drama wclub is inviting anyone and everyone who supports the arts on campus to attend the ceremony.

This year, the ceremony will be focusing on the art that students, faculty and alumni have created this year. Projects such as pottery, photography, studio arts and some design projects will be presented.

Some music students have sent in recordings of music they have written, arranged or performed.

Some of that music will be played as the background music for the event.

Miller said her hope for the ceremony is that it continues to be an annual event on this campus to highlight how important the arts are to students.

“In the wake of seeing public school systems cut art from their curriculum, I feel it is important now more than ever to remind people that the arts are still an integral part of our education and society,” Miller said.

Local business, Maggie’s Buns will be catering the event. A large appetizer spread with lots of variety will be offered for people to eat and observe the artwork.
