RHA and ACE Board have collaborated to bring a whole evening of Halloween fun to Pacific University Oct. 30. The evening will start with Haunt the Hall at 7:30 p.m. in Clark Hall. At 8 p.m. there will be a carnival in the University Center with booths from a variety of different groups on campus.

“We have 16 to 17 booths signed up,” Activities and Cultural Events (ACE) Board chair Alexis Johnston said.

There will be face painting, fortune telling, henna, ring toss and many more activities. During the carnival there will be a costume contest. The winner of the contest will be announced and receive a prize at 10:30 p.m. at the dance following the carnival.

Along with the costume contest, there will be a free Photo Boxx at the carnival. The Photo Boxx will print any photo posted to Instagram or Twitter with a specific hash tag that will be announced at the carnival.

The night doesn’t end there. At 8:30 p.m. there will be a dance in the multi-purpose room. The DJ for the Portland Trailblazers, OG One, will be providing music for the event.

Since the dance is just before Halloween, all students are encouraged to dress up in their costumes.

Every person must have a ticket, which will be available all week in the University Center. Haunt the Halls will end at 10 p.m. and the carnival will end at 10:30 p.m. The dance will last until 11:30 p.m. but no one is granted entry after 10:30 p.m. and no one is allowed re-entry.

All rules for the dance, including appropriate dress, will be located on the back of the tickets.

“We’re excited to bring together a lot of different groups,” Residence Hall Association (RHA) president Sophia Nation said. RHA and ACE Board have never done a previous collaboration and there has not been this many school groups in one place for many years.
