Campus safety: incident reports 11/10

10/24/2011 12:35 p.m. Medical Report

Campus Public Safety responded to reported student in seizure in a classroom. Officers provided care for student. Fire & EMS declined. Escorted student to her room and left in care of roommate.

 

10/25/2011 7 a.m. to 2:26 p.m. Theft II

ARAMARK employee reported theft of cash from her purse while at work. Purse was left in an open, unsecured area during employee’s shift. No suspects identified. Investigation showed report to be unfounded.

 

10/27/2011 8:10 p.m. Medical Report

Student reportedly fainted in Warner Hall. CPS responded and assisted student. Fire & EMS were called and transported student to hospital for evaluation.

 

10/29/2011 3:37 a.m. Tampering with Smoke Detector

CPS officers observed a smoke detector in a residence hall had been covered with a plastic bag. Officers contacted that room in which the violation was occurring but found the room unoccupied. Officers also discovered an open container of alcohol in the unoccupied room. Officers placed the smoke detector back into working order. Officer seized and destroyed the alcohol. Residents referred to conduct review committee for violations.

 

10/29/2011 Lost or Stolen Property

CPS was notified of multiple university-issued keys lost during a two-day period between Oct. 29 and Oct. 31. The exact time frame and location in which the keys were misplaced are unknown.

 

10/30/2011 12:34 a.m. Alcohol

Resident Assistant reported a student was found highly intoxicated and possibly suffering from alcohol poisoning. CPS responded to assist. Forest Grove Fire & Rescue were also called. Student taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment. Investigation revealed other students who had provided alcohol. All involved were underage and were referred to conduct review committee for violation of alcohol policy.

 

10/30/2011 4:20 p.m. Medical Report

Student reported to have injured his ankle while playing basketball at the Stoller Center. Assisted student to his room. Further medical care was declined. Injury report to be submitted.

 

10/30/2011 Property Damage

Student submitted a work-order for a broken lock. Facilities staff noted that the door had been kicked and damaged.

Student refused to identify who had caused the damage. Student will be charged for the damages and report sent to conduct review committee.

 

10/31/2011 2:50 a.m. Alcohol

RA reported underage students possibly drinking alcohol. Students contacted by CPS and all found in violation of alcohol policy. Referred to conduct review committee.

 

10/31/2011 2:15 p.m. Medical Report

Staff reported an employee tripped and fell on the staircase at Scott Hall. Injured employee was assisted by CPS and then taken by a co-worker to the emergency room for evaluation. Injury report filed.

 

11/02/2011 Assist Police

Officers found graffiti in the Lincoln Park men’s restroom. Report forwarded to FG Police and Parks Department.

 

11/02/2011 10:20 p.m. Criminal Trespass II

Staff and faculty reported a male subject in the men’s locker room at the Stoller Center acting in a suspicious manner. Suspect was contacted by CPS officers and found to not be a member of the Pacific community. He was arrested for criminal trespassing and turned over to Forest Grove Police. Investigation is continuing.

 

11/02/2011 Drugs

CPS smelled a heavy odor of marijuana on three students walking through the hallway of a residence hall. Officers contacted the students and they admitted to recently smoking marijuana off-campus. A search was conducted and no marijuana or any further contraband was found. Students referred to conduct review committee.

 

11/4/2011 11:12 p.m. Drugs

CPS responded to a residence hall for reports of an odor of marijuana. Officers were able to locate the odor and determine that a student possessed a small amount of marijuana and a bong. Illegal items were confiscated and placed in evidence. Student referred to conduct review committee.

 

11/05/2011 10:15 p.m. Alcohol, Weapons

CPS responded to a residence hall on reports of an odor of marijuana. A large group of students were contacted in an adjacent room and found to be in possession of alcohol while underage. No marijuana was found but a large amount of alcohol was seized and destroyed. Items for “rapid alcohol consumption” were also seized, as was an air soft gun. Students referred to conduct adviser.

 

11/7/2011 1 p.m. Medical Report

CPS was notified of several staff members experiencing symptoms of possible carbon monoxide poisoning. The building was evacuated while Forest Grove Fire and Rescue inspected the building and examined the staff members. No carbon monoxide was detected by FGF&R and all staff members cleared the examinations.

The Pacific Index will be publishing all incident reports that are received from Campus Public Safety in order to inform the Pacific community. 

According to the Cleary Act of 1990, all institutions receiving financial aid must keep a public log of crime on campus.
