The Power of Parking

As a senior approaching the end of my time at Pacific, I’ve had my fair share of parking frustrations over the past four years. I’ve to make many treks on and off campus to my parked car when there were no options close to my dorm building, and even instituted a rule with my friends freshman year that we couldn’t leave campus after a certain time in the evening so that we wouldn’t lose our spots.

No SAD Days

With the changing of seasons and turning of leaves comes a condition many people know too well: seasonal affective disorder, or seasonal depression. Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) affects 0.5 to 3 percent of individuals in the general population: 10 to 20 percent of people with major depressive disorder and about 25 percent of people with bipolar disorder (Mental Health America).

Fifth-Year Athlete

2020 was a year full of hardships for everybody, but it was especially difficult for senior athletes who had lost their last year of college sports to the pandemic. Then, in October of 2020, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) granted an extra year of eligibility for all fall, winter, and spring sport athletes in the Division III category to make up for their lost year.
