The 2014-2015 academic year is drawing to a close and seniors are beginning a new chapter in their lives.

On May 13, Senior Salute will take place inside the University Center, shortly following the commencement practice and the Senior Awards Ceremony.

Senior Salute provides all graduating students a chance to celebrate one last time, as they are welcomed into the Alumni Association.

“In Alumni Relations we are responsible for facilitating reunions so I know the interactions classmates will have with each other after they leave here,” Director of Alumni Relations Martha Calus-McLain said. “There’s never going to be a time where the class of 2015 will all be together at the same time the way that it happens here; there’s no reunion that can match it.”

Various businesses, local breweries and wineries will be donating to this event and appetizers will be served.

Seniors will need to complete a survey in order to be entered into a drawing to win such prizes as a $500 dollar gift card to a mattress store or a signed baseball cap from Robin Lopez.

Senior Victoria Hampton, who is the senior class representative for this event, is really looking forward to being with friends to celebrate before they part on their separate paths.

“I encourage seniors to come out to the event and to celebrate with all of their classmates,” Hampton said. “It will kind of be the final celebration before graduation. It’s happy and sad but it’s going to be neat.”
